About the Lord of the Rings Online
The player can choose his character among four races of the Free
Civilizations: the Human, Dwarves, Elves and Hobbits . He must then
choose a class for his character among the seven available ( nine since
the extension) .
Guardians It often has the best armor and
more life points. As such, he holds the role of tank. He monopolizes the
attention of enemies to prevent them from attacking the most vulnerable
classes.
Champions His role is to focus on dealing area damage, interrupt enemy loading skills and eventually replace the Guardian.
Captains His
skills allow him to add Buffs (modifiers) on his enemies (increased
damage, etc. . ) and its allies ( increase their maximum life, etc. ). .
Its role is to keep the group buffs up and assist the healer or DPS
classes (Damage per Second) as needed. Even if his healing and his
attacks are ineffective in comparison with those of specialized classes
in these areas, the master's ability to carry heavy armor make this a
great supporting class . It can also invoke a familiar (herald) .
Masters of Knowledge With his spells, he can control the enemies by stunning, rooting them, etc. . He has healing and defuffing capabilities.
Hunters Featuring
the best DPS (Damage per Second) on a target, and many skills to secure
and scare off its enemies to isolate others, the hunter can easily take
down several opponents, including high levels. It thus makes an ideal
class for players who like to alturnate team and solo play since the
hunter is as useful and effective in both. He is not not without melee
skills, but is more effective at a distance. He also has powers to
remove the poison on him or members of his community, and many powers to
teleport to towns making him able to move faster with its allies. His
detection skills allow him to track specific monsters .
Thiefs Its
stealth allows him to get close to the enemy without being seen. It may
well start a fight in a favorable way. Moreover, his artifices (powder
stunning , bags of marbles) allow him to overthrow the enemy and to
provide skills and community tactics to its allies.
Minstrels It
is the group's designated healer. He can resurrect his fallen comrades
in battle. He also has spells to remove part of the fear of defeat or
terror. However, he has low defense compared to other classes.
Sentinels It
is a melee fighter using a new combat system with chains. The combos
are skills that appear after you use in a certain order different simple
attacks (Attack spear, shield or shouting for example). Every single
attack will affect the particular combo, like a moral regeneration in
time, the temporary increase of his chances of parades or more powerful
attacks for example. In the beginning, the Sentinel has only two
sequenced attacks and acquire new combos and chain of attacks as he
progresses . This is a class that has no specific role in the community
because of its versatility.
Guardians of Runes By entering
formulas on runic stones, it can launch attacks or magic to cure its
allies. During a fight, he may alternate between casting healing or
increasingly powerful attack spells. There is also a PvP zone (
player against player ) called Monster Play . Battles take place in the
Ettenmoors , where heroes and monsters confront to the death. Monsters, which begin immediately at the maximum level are much weaker than a hero of the same level. The rise of these characters is done by participating in PvP encounters to earn infamy and destiny points . Destiny
points are shared between heroes and monsters from the same account and
may enable the collection of temporary " buffs " very powerful on both
sides, but mostly serve to as money to monsters . They allow the
purchase of skills that unlock by earning infamy points , but traits of
monsters as well as improvements in overall statistics of the monster.
